Blooming Most Recklessly has posted an incredible moment in her life. I truly believe that this is happening in every part of the world. We need to know that the silly things the Spirit is leading us to do are not so silly as we think. Again, so simple is the venue Jesus moves in. Highways and Biways have always been my favorite places -- that is where the miracles happen -- where the lost and crushed are.
This is the moment that everyone has sensed. What say ye? Time to take it to where they are waiting...to the streets!!!!
So, when I make a plan, and the rain seems to ruin it, Lord, help me to remember that this could be the very moment someone looking for you has taken a wrong turn into a KFC somewhere...may I remember to take my friends and guitar and run towards Redemption!
Psalm 27.13-14
I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.

Cool map in the corner. ow do you do it?
Dena is a friend of my blog's. I read hers everyday and revelled in her experience.
If you click on my little cluster map it will take you to the Clustermap page. At the top of the page it will ask you if you want one free...
Revelled is a good word...I am excited to see how God is moving in different parts of the world...and I am so thankful there are so many believers who really do want to be a part of what He is doing...
a-freakin' men! about time someone wants to do something instead of just more talking! amen, brother. amen and amen.
let's get it on.
But Jon, this is not unique to me...There have always been so many who have spent their lives taking the Gospel to the streets. So many who have lost their lives for the sake of the Gospel...so many...but, now He is calling the likes of you and me to share the love of God outside the church walls...and I say that with the hope that no one misunderstands me...take the Gospel to the streets but meet me on Sundays to celebrate what God has done . God never stopped taking it to the streets, we just didn't get it 'til now. We always thought that was the missionaries and evangelists job. Nope, it isn't just up to them. We have been lax and now we have no room to be critical for we have all been a part of the problem...so again I say, "What say ye?" But if I have not love I am nothing....
it's just good to hear someone talking about taking it to the streets in a way that sounds like it is going to be more than talk. it can be very easy for those of us here in the "blogosphere" to talk about the things we dislike about church, and how we think it could be done better. it's another thing to actually go out and put this myriad of theories into action.
when i started "taking it..." last year, it upheaved my world. and one of those upheavals was that i found my local body less than receptive. because, for some reason, the leadership's ears and eyes were completely closed to what was happening. they could not see past behavior and company. the people and places i was involved in. apparently, it was not for them to receive those who would come. i don't know why. but realizing that the two world's would not mesh, i decided to "quit before i got fired" so to speak. yet, 5 months after i quit, they had a firing ceremony anyway to explain to everyone why i was no longer in attendance...
if you still have a group where you can meet on sundays to talk about your week in the street, and a place for the people you meet in the street to come and find healing and learning and growth, i am very joyful for you. it is simply an experience i do not share with you. i was lead outside and i'm not completely sure why yet.
Good point, many times 'the church' is not receptive to 'out of the box' ministry. I think they might feel like you're gonna steal what's theirs or something. Too bad for them, really. Scripturally it's all about being out and about in the streets, (which was a lot easier then since all of life was out on the streets.) Now we have to go and find places where people are.
I am so sorry that your church did not welcome what God is doing with your life.
Maybe, there will be a way for you to gather up some other leaders in the community and praise God together. Maybe you will be the one to pave the way for others like you who are called to do other things, maybe you will be the one to prepare a place for them to come together without tension and grief.
Hmm, maybe that is something to consider. I may be talking to myself....
Thanks, Jon. I needed to hear your thoughts, they've got me thinking...
as you have done for me...
